Sun 17th May: Classical Lifts Day

Did not sleep great last night, fell asleep this afternoon on the couch. Gym was empty tonight and again for the second night in a row the stereo was missing.

Snatch
Warm ups with 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 84. Then did 3 sets of 2 with 90kg (200lb). Pulls felt sluggish in all the snatches and my usual power snatch limit was lower today and I was having to sink into squat earlier in the session. Need to start doing some work on power snatches. Took some videos from behind and side on to look at a few problems. Think my right foot has a tendency to go AWOL when racking the bar. Main thing to take from this session was right wrist does not seem to have reacted badly to snatches.

C&J
Technique night. 60, 84. Worked with 6-7 sets of 2 reps of C&J at 100kg which Ronnie suggested to work on getting hands out consistently (felt this was not happening with left hand seeming to pop out further) and also trying to pause in receive position to get out of habit of running with bar.

Was supposed to front squat tonight but was getting a sore head throughout the session so decided to call it a day. Can't seem to shift this cold that has been with me for last 2-3 weeks.

Training next week may have to be shortened to squats and one lift each night as a few of us have been assigned to review a 6-700 page grant. Last year this resulted in a few nights with little sleep which I am trying to avoid this year.
